Nice drive for the family. Easy cache. Roads are all in good condition. I drove my Taurus. Go up the Squilchuck Rd. Just past the big gravel pile on the left take the Wenatchee Heights Rd. Follow it to the Stemilt Loop Rd. Follow the Stemilt Loop Rd.(winding road) to the Jumpoff Ridge Rd. and follow your gps. While you are on the paved road watch for two or three lakes on the downhill side. We saw a huge herd of elk down there on the day the cache was planted. Deer have also been spotted near the road so drive carefully. In spring the hills are alive with the beautiful flowers. In places it is covered in yellow. There are many wild flowers including larkspurs, lupine, phlox, balsam root, paint brush, pentstemmons, harebells and tiger lilies. Watch for a great view of Wenatchee along the way including the Stewart mountain range.
At the site listen to the meadow larks. Watch for snakes, I saw a bull snake (big un). Watch the ants at work building a growing ant hill. Then you will know you have arrived if you haven’t found it already. Enjoy your day and follow the back roads to beautiful places remembering the Creator who made it all.
