The Powercat Geoart Trail is the culmination of an idea I had three years ago and it has required over a year of preparing containers, buying swag, hiking trails to place caches, multiple trips to recheck coordinates, and long hours of creating cache listings. Fifteen of the caches contain clues to a grand finale. Please do not arrive with pre-signed logs and plan to do "swap and drop" on this trail.
RETURN EACH CACHE TO ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION.
There is not a cache at the posted coordinates. Bring your own writing utensil. There are a couple of unactivated geocoins in this cache.
This is not your average geoart. That should be obvious given the beauty of the art, but it goes deeper than that. You will walk over 13 miles to find all 100 caches in this geoart series. There are no PnGs. The caches are placed on the multiple trails that encircle Banner Creek Reservoir. Some are easy, some are not. Some will have high terrain ratings. Some will require TOTTs. Please pay attention to D/T ratings and attributes. Most of the containers are small camo'd LnLs, about 8-10 are camo'd matchstick holders. There are a few bison tubes and one or two ammo cans. The primitive trails are packed earth and grass. They keep the grass mowed frequently during the spring and summer. The trails are approved for hiking and biking and there are some sections that can be difficult if muddy. There are over six miles on the NW portion that have been approved for horseback riding. The trails will definitely be easier from late fall until mid-spring. Some caches are close to the trail, some are farther off the trail and will require some bush whacking. Be prepared to encounter thorns, ticks, bugs, snakes, poison ivy, and brush. Also be prepared to view a large assortment of wildlife -- deer, turkeys, bald eagles, numerous species of waterfowl and all the other small critters you would expect to encounter in the woods.
Finding the location of this large 5.0/5.0 Letterbox Hybrid AND adding your name to the log, will require you to find clues placed in 15 caches.
Finding those 15 caches will require you to find the correct 15 caches from among the 100 caches placed as part of the Powercat Geoart Trail.
Finding the 100 caches placed for the Powercat Geoart Trail will require you to walk over 13 miles of trails around Banner Creek Reservoir.
The D/T rating of this cache and the attributes listed reflect the work that will be required to gather the clues to find and open this cache.
It really is that simple.
Ten of the caches contain a number that can be used to find the location of this cache. Five of the caches contain one digit (letter or number) that when put together in the proper order, will allow you to pop the locks and gain access to the cache.
The cache location is:
N 39 AB.CDE
W 95 FG.HIJ
There are two locks on the LARGE container. The combination is the same, but different for both locks. You will see what I mean when you get there.
