Geocache Description:

Ishiuchi station is the station in Joetsu-sen. There are a lot of ski areas in the circumference.

cache is installed in front of the station.

石打駅は上越線の駅です。

昭和５０年代にスキーを楽しんでいた方には有名かもしれませんが、冬季には上野発石打行の「新雪号」が走っていました。駅前には多くのスキー客が列を作っていました。駅前のお土産屋も何軒も営業し賑わっていました。

そして上越新幹線が開通すると、越後湯沢駅が拠点となり、石打駅はだんだん寂れていってしまいました。今は列車が到着する時間以外はとても静かです。

キャッシュは駅前に設置しました。
