This cache is a tribute to the movie that brought us to the date of the release of the cache, October 21, 2015. Back to the Future II. Today in a town called Hillsdale, Marty McFly is brought here from the date October 26, 1985 in a time traveling DeLorean built by Dr. Emmitt Brown. Marty is here to prevent his son, Marty Jr. from participating in a robbery and destroying his life and that of h>is sister when she attempts to break him out of jail. All three roles were played by Michael J. Fox.
Marty pretends to be his son and tells Griff Brannon that he will not participate in the robbery. A fight ensues leading to the arrest of Briff and his gang ensuring Marty's children's future. However, Marty alters our history by buying a sports memorabilia book that will allow him to become rich by betting on sporting events after he returns to 1985. He plan is run a foul when Biff Brannon, the heavy throughout the series, learns of the book and the time machine and goes back to the 1950s and gives himself the almanac. Marty returns to a 1985 that is much different and darker than he left with Biff now being wealthy and ruling over Hillsdale. Biff has murdered Marty's father and married his mother. Marty must now restore history to what it was.
The producers of the show envisioned the world of 2015 of one with flying cars and cars that ran on decaying organic matter, hover boards, dehydrated pizza that required a rehumidifier to recook it in a matter of minutes. A world of self inflating sneakers and jackets. What they didn't see was the use of the cell phone, the internet (Marty was fired via a fax in the future) and self driving cars. They did not envision the use of handheld computers via the smart phone that allowed one to geocache. What do you think of the predictions that didn't happen and what has actually occurred?
I was trying to develop a D/T that is a little unusual. The terrain is steep and the rocks can be loose. It will be very difficult to keep your footing if it has rained recently. The find should be easy. At the placement of the cache, I have left a few items related to the movie. Happy Caching. The area is a little steep with a few loose rocks. There is areas of old rebar and rusted metal that can poke and stab. Use caution when you attempt and you may want to keep the little ones top side.
