The brand new Wickham Woodlands Park is some 500 acres on and around the grounds of an old prison. The area will undoudbtedly experience lots of growth and change in coming years as part of it will be developed for commercial use, and this park will surely see great improvements as well. A walk around today revealed the beginnings of what could one day be a really nice park. The thick vegetation has been mown down to give an idea what the planners are intending. There is a wonderful picnic area by the lake, including a floating dock to launch paddle craft.
My hope is to get cachers out here to see this park, and perhaps to start a series of hides here. I've located this cache to leave plenty of room for others, and maybe even a power trail or a multi some day. The cache should not be too hard. Keep an eye out for poison ivy. It seems to be all over the area, though I didn't see any in the immediate vicinity of this hide. It isn't exactly a park and grab, though if you drive around the perimeter road (one way, clockwise) you could stop within a couple hundred feet of the cache without blocking the road. But I recommend parking in one of several lots and enjoying a walk around the park and making this part of your route. I'll set the T rating assuming you will!
Cache is big enough for small TB or coins. Starting it out with an unactivated trackable for FTF.
