Geocache Description:

Limited parking with a photogenic view of the lake and remnant Kahikatea swamp forest.

This cache has been placed by DOC as part of Conservation Week 2015. Cache is not in the water - the map is slightly skew wiff, so check the Hint before you start.

No skill required at this site, but you can admire one of the last remaining swamp kahikatea forests (white pine or Dacrydium dacrycarpus).  This ghostly visage is also the site of a restoration project.  The cach invites viewers to think about what is different about the lake and its inhabitants, and why the forest is unique.
