When I was a kid, this end of the lake was the place to be for swimming and playing on the sandy beach. I remember wading into the rather warm water and sinking my toes through the somewhat silty lakebed to make contact with a layer of black plastic! It is said that the lake covers 36 acres with an average depth of only 1 foot! The deepest part is said to be 14 feet.
The annual Magic Lake Lantern Festival takes place here each winter, and has featured community lantern making, fire spinning, stilt walking, story telling, giant puppets, dance, kayak ballet, and all sorts of other special events!
You are looking for a cluster of alder trees near the lake edge where the small boats are stored. Check out the centrepiece! BYOP
