This cache has been hidden for the Vogrie V event being held on 3rd October 2015. Come and enjoy the beautiful autumn colours in the stunning grounds of the historic Vogrie Country Park. There are 11.5 miles of signed footpaths passing through sweeping parkland, woodlands and the River Tyne Valley. There are many fine trees that tend to confuse your GPS, we have tried our hardest to get accurate coordinates but please be warned! Please return the cache exactly as you found it. Enjoy.
This is our first attempt at a wherigo; our testers have got it to work on both smartphones and a Wherigo compatible GPS unit. We hope you enjoy it and would welcome any constructive criticism. If you have any bother with it please do get in touch via the links on this page and we'll try to help you
Make sure you have a wherigo app on your GPS device. The cartridge can be downloaded here
If you are new to wherigos we have a few top tips
1. Check the app switches on location. For some apps I have to switch this on separately from having location enabled on the phone
2. As you near the zone you are aiming for slow down, this seems to help the cartridge recognising you have entered the zone
3. If using the navigation just watch for the distance ticking down rather than blindly following the direction of the arrow, the direction can be a little slow to respond.
4. If you have bother it's worth saving the cartridge, switching off and going back into the app to resume.
Thank you to our lovely testers who braved being locked in Vogrie for the night. And went back more than once to check it for us. It is very much appreciated
The cartridge was built using the earwigo web based builder - many thanks to the owners for giving me access
Many thanks to the Mid Lothian County Rangers for giving us permission to hide the caches.
