Penrhos Path Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

The cache is placed on the edge of the once privately owned Penrhos estate. The estate is now, and has been for decades, a local haven for wildlife and coastal path for the enjoyment of local people and visitors alike.

Prize for FTF!

The cache is placed on the edge of the Penrhos estate, Anglesey. This path is part of the sustrans cycle network (route 8) so assess is easy whether walking, cycling or even pushing a buggy. The paths around Penrhos are lovely for strolling around and this would make an excellent start, walking or exploring through to the coastal park.

Penhros has been a major part of Holy Island life for hundreds of years. The owners of the estate have been major landowners and figures within the local towns and villages. The most notable owners of the estate being the Stanleys who came, by marriage, to the house in 1763. Although the main house is no longer standing after being demolished after the 2nd World War, the family still have many parts of the local towns and villages named after them. There are even parts of the the original house grounds still standing within the park, a few towers here and there, the tree line main drive and a few ornamental flowers from the house gardens.

There is ample parking along the road from the cache. It is also close to the main Penrhos beach. There is also parking on the other side of the park, which would be the main entrance of the coastal park.
