Geocache Description:

Located at the Columbus Old City Cemetary..  Very interesting to read the historical marker.  


This is a small Tupperware-like container.  Placed at Columbus Old City Cemetary.. Marker says oldest headstone was dated 1853, but I found one that was dated 1837. There are at least two of Austin's "Old 300" colonists, along with W.B. DeWees who was the Founder of Columbus.  Many Confederate soldiers and victims of the1873 Yellow Fever Epidemic are buried here.

 Look around while you are here, but watch out for mugglers and burrs.
