Hall of famer Paul Molitor spent the majority of his career playing for the Milwaukee Brewers before joining the Toronto Blue Jays as a free agent before the 1993 season. Over his time in Milwaukee, Molitor had established himself as one of the greatest hitters in the game. But one thing had eluded him: a World Series ring.
In 1993 Molitor's play was extremely productive. He played well during the regular season, but was historically great in the World Series, hitting .500 over its span and earning himself the Most Valuable Player award for the series. Most fans remember Joe Carter's iconic home run in game six, but again: it was Molitor's play before him that set up the winning situation, delivering three hits during the game, including an RBI triple to start the scoring and later: a home run.
Despite the brevity of his three year stint with the Blue Jays, Paul Molitor still remains a memorable and important member of the club's history.
