Standing in the countryside between two metropolises, the Robin’s Nest affords a unique view along the border of Hong Kong and China. The view pans from Sai Kung to Shenzhen, and delivers stunning sunrises/sunsets on clear days.
To reach the starting trail, take the MTR to Fanling and the 78K bus to Chun Yiu. From there, walk up Wo Keng Shan Road and take the second right. If driving, there is a small car park here. If you have a motorcycle you can ride up the main trail as it’s paved all the way to the radio tower. If you do drive up, beware of hikers and cyclists and take it slowly; there are lots of sharp, blind corners and sometimes work vehicles use the road. For a scenic drive to the location, I would recommend coming via Bridespool Road.
The main trail is a simple uphill hike and the final ascent is a rocky trail that may require some basic scrambling - be careful in wet conditions. Be sure to take plenty of water as it can be thirsty work. The cache itself is slightly downhill beyond the lookout pillar, further along the trail. Do not descend towards China as the lower sections of this area are prohibited land that sit along the border. The road up and the surrounding peaks are not prohibited.
The cache is a small quadlock container with a notepad and pencil inside. I have included a spoiler image for identifying the location.
