A decent sized cache - big enough for some decent sized treasure.
Growing up in the middle of England we were quite a distance from the sea. Whenever we went on holiday, the family in-car competition was to spot the sea first - and when you did, you shouted as loud as you could "I see the sea, I win 10p". Now I live in Wellington I get to say this daily.
This is our first cache and is one for the geo-kids who are always on the look out for swaps. Please don't take the 10p though!
You almost forget the promise of the view when you are going up the very steep slope to get up to this cache - its steep which ever way you come at it! Macalister Park can get very busy with cricket and rugby, but the cache is hopefully out of range of suspicious muggles. Not recommended for buggies/prams as it is very steep!
The cache is a camo-ed plastic container 14cm wide 16cm high.
At the time of hiding it is full of treasure:
2 Cache me if you can dog tags and 2 Cache me if you can whistles;
1 shark, and 2 dinosaurs (toys - not real say the Beans);
1 kiwi keyring;
1 card game and 13 marbles
1 home made alien
5 other figures
There is a bit of prickly gorse around, but you shouldn't encounter any to get to the cache.
We hope you like the view down across Berhampore and Island Bay as much as we do.
