The Ballarat-Skipton Rail trail runs from Ballarat to Skipton via Haddon, Smythesdale, Scarsdale, Linton and Pittong. The trail was resurfaced in 2008 with the current compacted granite surface to make it into a smooth surface perfect for walking, riding bicycles, riding a horse or geocaching (of course).
Please note that cars and motorbikes are not allowed on the trail, however there is regular access points at road crossings along its length.
All geocaches placed on this trail are designed to be easy to find as the journey along the trail is the main reason for these caches being placed.
This geocache is part of a new replaced section of the BSRT rail trail series that was originally placed back in 2013. These new containers were graciously donated by the Geocaching Community of Victoria to reinstate missing sections of this great series.
