Shitaya shrine Traditional Cache

The cache is hidden outside of Shitaya shrine.
The 1st of October is Tokyo Citizen's Day. On this day in 1898, the State of Tokyo was established. We, the members of geocaching groups in Tokyo, celebrate this occasion by hiding this cache, along with many other caches, all over our city. Many city-run parks, museums, zoos, and other attractions will be free on this day.
Shitaya shrine in Taito-ku has been relocated to the current ground in 1928. It is founded in Ueno Shinobuke Oka. Ceiling painting of Taikan Yokoyama has been left because it was not damaged in the Tokyo bombing. There is a stone monument of "vaudeville birthplace in Japan". It seems fun for geocachers with children because there are duck and various animals. Cache is placed outside of the shrine. Please bring your own pen.

台東区東上野にある下谷神社は上野忍ケ岡で創建され昭和3年に現在の地に移転してきました。関東大震災では社殿を焼失するものの東京大空襲では被害を受けなかったため横山大観の天井画が残されています。この境内で初めて寄席が開かれたそうで「寄席発祥の地」の石碑もあります。アヒルとかいろいろな動物がいるのでお子様連れでジオキャッシングするのも楽しいと思います。キャッシュはこの神社の外側に置いてあります。ペンは入っていないのでお持ちください。
