Victoria's handicap road racing season moves into full swing around May each year with the running of the Creswick 'Fred Icke' Memorial.. The 'Fred Icke' is run over three laps of an undulating 44km circuit which starts and finishes in the picturesque country town of Creswick, 23km north of Ballarat.
Ask anyone who has finished the 'Fred Icke' about their experience and they are likely to give two responses:
1) "It's very cold!"
2) "It's a fantastic race and awesome training for future events in the road season".
This geocache is placed along Cox's Road (Gillies Street) where cyclists co-habit the road with cars, buses, trucks and the odd tractor. So be careful and look out for passing vehicles.
CAUTION TRAFFIC (100kph speed limit)!
