Eastnor Castle has a long association with Land Rovers. Eastnor is
the home of Land Rover's famous test track, which has been used for
over 30 years to test the best 4x4's.
There is a variety of routes that can be taken up to the cache,
you may have to pay a fee to enter the deer park which is why we
have placed it near to the public right of way that can be accessed
from either the car park nr Castle Morton Common (N 52 02.516, W 02
20.565) or Herefordshire Beacon nr British Camp (N 52 03.629, W 02
20.937)
As a child (since 1970) I used to come here regularly with my
family to events with the Midland Rover Owners Club. I am very much
a Land Rover fan and used to drive a 1963 Series 2A daily, our more
modern vehicle is a 1997 Land Rover Discovery TDi Over the years my
family has owned a large variety of the Land Rover models. Our main
use has been as towing vehicles, rather than for farm/work use.
When this cache was placed it was the week prior to Land Rover
World Show here, a haven for Land Rover enthusiasts.
This cache has all Land Rover memorabilia, some parts and other
essentials to the Land Rover driver.
Please take something if you wish and replace only Land Rover
related items.
