Dragonfly in the Garden Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

catepa4: Came to replace the wet log and realize the path this used be on has been allowed to grow over. This was my first cache to place and I’m sorry to see it go. Maybe someday they will rework that section of the garden. Until then, bye to my Dragonfly.

Geocache Description:

Enjoy a few minutes searching for this small gem in a gem of a garden.  Plenty of parking at the waypoint given - please don't park on the street. Garden is open 24/7 but daylight hours are better. This beautiful Rainwater garden is maintained by the Master Gardeners of Cobb County.

The Rain and Wildlife Garden at Cobb County Water System was created in 2004 for educational purposes, specifically to demonstrate storm water pollution prevention, with plantings designed to provide habitat to pollinators and urban wildlife. Many native species and specific butterfly host and nectar plants have been installed to showcase how-to attract animals to the landscape and provide a public space where people can see how rain and wildlife gardens can be created, maintained, and utilized. Visitors can observe pollinators utilizing this urban space, learn about citizen science projects they can participate in, and better understand the land ethic and recommended stewardship practices.
