Geocache Description:

This is the third in a series of caches hidden to guide people to some of the locations used in the iconic British film Kes (1969) and other points of interest.

Skiers Spring Wood has been a site of industry since the late 19th century; coal mining, brick making and a pottery have all had an impact on the landscape we see today.

This circular route takes you through Skiers Spring Wood, to Tankersley Old Hall, up to Hoyland Lowe Stand and back. It is a mixture of trails and footpaths. Please take care when crossing busy roads. You are looking for a small box.

The Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership is working with local geocachers to develop a number of routes. If you have any ideas or comments then please get in touch.
