Geocache Description:

This geocache is not at the posted coordinates. Work out the following puzzle using the numbers on the telegraph pole to find out its true location!

The ruins of the medieval Tankersley Old Hall provided the setting for the pivotal moment when Billy Casper finds Kes. Billy was played by local actor David Bradley.

N53 29.UVW      W001 27.XYZ

Substitute the numbers on the telegraph post for A, B, C, D and E then work out the following calculations.

U = B

V = C–(A / E)

W = C+E

X = B+E

Y = (D+E) – (C/D)

Z = A-E

This is the seventh in a series of caches hidden to guide people to some of the locations used in the iconic British film Kes (1969) and other points of interest.

This circular route takes you through Skiers Spring Wood, to Tankersley Old Hall, up to Hoyland Lowe Stand and back. It is a mixture of trails and footpaths. Please take care when crossing busy roads. You are looking for a small box.

The Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership is working with local geocachers to develop a number of routes. If you have any ideas or comments then please get in touch.
