ernestyzel: I will archive this listing for time being as the building work has no final end date in site and the pole where the box was mounted on is no longer available. Will revisit in a year or so and unarchive if location is available again

Geocache Description:

Years ago a magnificent hotel was built to house travellers that were visiting South Africa or going overseas... These travellers are known as TB's (Travel bugs). This hotel was the hottest hotel in Pretoria for years. Many TB's visited the hotel and was very pleased with the hotel servants (Geocachers) that took them on great expeditions throughout South Africa and the world. Any TB that visited this hotel went on a journey of a lifetime!!!

After a few years some odd stuff started happening at the hotel. Travelers started to go missing. Nobody ever saw something. The police also investigated the case of missing travellers, but with no success.

Some of these travellers are missing for years: 65 Sunbeam Tiger TB went missing on 01/24/2010 (http://goo.gl/HQhDTW) , Speedy's Travel Bug went missing on 12/08/2011 (http://goo.gl/zKlvdS), Jumbo the Elephant went missing on 09/22/2012 (http://goo.gl/oiDEyO), Flash Mob IX Travel Tag went missing on 07/28/2013 (http://goo.gl/T0VPpB) and  HK Beer Bear went missing on 10/25/2014 (http://goo.gl/dWiRfv). At least one traveller went missing a year! In total 7 travellers went missing from this hotel.

The owner of the hotel went missing on Tuesday, 12 June 2012. The hotel was a thus free for all until recently. The hotel was auctioned off on 09/29/2015 to a brand new owner. The future of the hotel was uncertain until the new owner decided to make the hotel (now an ordinary cache) a place to honour the history of the fallen hotel.

The fallen Hotel can be viewed here http://bit.ly/1N7RUQJ

PLEASE NOTE! This is not a dedicated TB hotel, thus can one use the "rooms" to store SWAG, TB's and tradeables.

Inside the cache there is a container labelled "Museum records". Inside this container is the original logbook and logs of the fallen hotel. These logs and logbook is only for study purposes, please do not edit or make new logs in these records.

Please log your visit in the current logbook, marked as “The Haunted Logbook”
