Ireland is ranked 6th for the Rugby World Cup 2015. Their star player is their flyhalf (no. 10), Johnny Sexton. They have reached the quarter final stage every time but twice in 1999 and 2007. They are one of two teams from the big rugby playing nations to still reach the semi-final rounds in the World Cup.
Ireland's largest defeat was against New Zealand (0-60) and their largest win was against the USA (83-3). They have finished top of their pool for the 2015 RWC and will thus play Argentina in their 6th World Cup quarter-final round.
