Welcome to the Colley St Bushland Reserve!
This is the first-ever geocache that I've hidden, I hope you enjoy it. :)
This cache is hidden in the Colley St Nature Reserve in Pearcedale which has a vast range of plants and animals.
It contains an area of 3.2 hectares and includes native plants such as orchids, banksias, gum trees, native grasses and many more. The nature reserve also provides a home for wildlife.
Local volunteers make sure the reserve is well maintained so it can continue to hold wildlife and plants.
The site was originally owned by the Department of Education and from 1930 the local school students were able to learn about wildlife and plants in the reserve. In 1992, the community petitioned the council to purchase the land, prompting the City of Casey to acquire the reserve in 1994.
Ever since, the reserve has provided a great place to go for a walk and admire the natural surroundings.
Please be careful of snakes in hot weather! The cache is just a few steps from the main track and largely hidden from view.
You are searching for a regular-sized container that's big enough for swaps. The cache includes a pencil, but please bring your own just in case.
Congrats to Biggles1024 for FTF!
