I recommend driving a short way onto the fire trail (see waypoint) and parking where you can - don't block the trail. Then walk along the fire trail north almost to the creek (see Trailhead waypoint) then following the left trail down to the water. Enjoy the sights, continue along parallel to the creek, then a minor uphill scramble will lead you to GZ. Trying to get to GZ directly from the fire trail is probably going to be very tough bush-bashing and you'll miss the views.
My friend Denis is an incredible source of knowledge about this area. He has directly influenced many people to appreciate the bush, the plants and animals in it, the geographic features and the impact of mankind's activity. He recently, and reluctantly, had to move elsewhere but his presence is still felt. Rock-hopper emailed me asking if I knew about this grotto, and the only info available was on Denis's blog. I asked him for more details and he, in typical style, provided a huge amount of info about how to get here and what to expect. He explained it was one of his favourite locations around Robertson. August 2016: It saddens me to report that Denis has passed away after a long and valiant battle with illness. He is buried in Robertson Cemetery. Think of him when you visit this place. There is some info about him in this article.
