Skálatrøð Traditional Geocache

This is a magnetic nano cache placed near the floating boat docks at the harbour in Tórshavn. 

The cache site is at the cultural centre of Tórshavn. Close by is Müllers Pakkhús, a warehouse, built in the 1890's. The basement was used as a salt depot and at the top floor sails were repaired. In the middle floor every sail boat had its own depot. Today the warehouse is a cultural event house owned by the city council of Tórshavn.

At the other side you will find Østrøm, a century old building, which used to be a factory but today is a design store, cafe, exhibition and lecture hall. It's characteristic architectonic design is well known and worth a visit.

The cache itself is located near the smack docks. In Faroese a smack is called a slupp. One of the regular is Westward Ho. Also enjoy the beautiful Faroese tree boats that are docked right next to the smacks.
