Lookout View Site - Whale Tale Traditional Cache

The Lookout Viewpoint, also known as the Whale Tail or Pansy shell, is located at the end of Formosa Street. There are information boards about the different whales that can be seen in Plettenberg Bay. There are also benches to sit down and take in the amazing views over Lookout Beach, Keurbooms Beach and the Tsitsikamma Mountains.

This spot holds many memories for us through the years and was my hubby's favourite hangout before the flood because of the world class waves that formed.  The local surfers of Plett and the Zigzag called this "Superbank".  Since the floods the river broke through and the river mouth moved further up changing the sand banks and destroying the wave.

Lookout is also where we got married one very early morning on a leap year 29 February 2012.  When we said "I do" a wave broke and formed a perfect heart with the white foam.
