Another Sun Circle Trail cache along the little known trail. Hope you enjoy the journey. (actually the trail is on the other side of the canal)
October 6 2009
West Valley residents can now bike, hike or run all the way to Scottsdale on a continuous path. The Skunk Creek underpass portion of the Sun Circle Trail is complete and open to the public. The trail links the West Valley to the East Valley without any disruptions on the Sun Circle Trail. A dedication will be held Saturday morning beginning with a free pancake breakfast at 7:30 and activities at 8:15.
The Sun Circle Trail was developed in the 1960s along the Valley’s canal system. …
The Arizona Canal constitutes at least a section of the trail.
At present (Aug 2014) you could start the Sun Circle Trail around 99 Ave and Northern. Than travel East to Scottsdale, than South to Gilbert. There you would go west through the town of Guadalupe into the South Mountain Park. Continue across South Mountain to 51 Ave south of Dobbins, than N E to 83 Ave and Southern area. Almost a whole loop. Part of it is on the Maricopa Trail.
I bike a small part of this trail and hope others will come out and use the trail also. Come out and find me.
Please NO SWIMMING and watch your step
