Geocache Description:

EPIC = Exploring Pender Island Caching

The Ainslie Point viewpoint is one of my favourite little nooks to sit and watch the water. Look for the designated parking at the end of Ainslie Point Rd. then wander down the short trail into the forest. You'll come to a little loop fork where either choice will take you to the simple bench sitting in front of the giant conglomerate boulder.

I used to come here as a kid to visit the best rope swing on the island! At high tide you could swing way out over the ocean and I always wondered what would happen if I let go of the rope. See the large fir that forms a bridge with a danger sign on it? I am pretty sure we used to walk across that back in the day on our way to the swing. This is a great place to watch the boats go by as they enter and leave the canal that separates North and South Pender and it is right beside Kingfisher Cove where I actually looked down to see a kingfisher sitting on the dock railing below.

The cache you seek is tucked into a small pocket in the conglomerate boulder that dominates this viewpoint. No need to disturb the stones that are set into this rock . You are looking for two loose rocks covering the hiding hole of the preform container. After finding, please put the rocks back in place to hide the cache securely.
