This 5th installment of the Walkawash series marks the area where the cedars start sharing the land with pines, where the elevation begins to take on a noticable change in plant life, where the wash starts becoming closer to the canyons and further from the desert flats. The view of the skyscraping rock walls & extending pillars begin to feel within reach here, for those avid hikers who love to explore. The foothills of red rock canyon country!
There are some huge cedars here with intense twisting limbs that dwarf the average sized cedar tree. They will just pop out at you as you clear the corner in the wash. The cache container at this site is an official, black metal bison tube. It is too small for any significant sized swag, so I left it to be with just a log & pencil. It is openly visible to the naked eye, but it blends in very well with it's surroundings, so look closely when searching for it.
