There was a cache here that was one of the older caches
in the Nanaimo area and on the Island for that matter.
It was hidden on January 1 2002 by a couple of cachers
that are no longer caching.
For those of you who are interested in checking out
the original cache listing the code for the cache is GC30FF
Just copy and paste into "Find a Cache" on the
Geocaching web site.
There are over 50 photos that are still able to be
viewed and you can still see all the log entries
of the cachers that found it and those that didn't of course.
This cache is not to replace the original
but to honor it.
For those of you that made the climb up
to the original cache
this gives you a reason to do it all over again.
I know you all really liked the great
views from this place.
Please be careful on the trail up
(and down for that matter)
as there are some steep sections with loose rocks,
dirt and dried leaves at certain time of the year.
The cache site is at 1050 ft above sea level so there
may be ice or snow on the trails in the
late fall to early spring.
The best time is to go for this one is late spring to
early fall to take advantage of the clear weather.
You are looking for a Pre-form pop bottle
with only room for a small log role. There is
no room for swag or a writing utensil.
Please bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.
