Tsuchiura All Japan Fireworks Competition
In 1925, the chief priest of the Jinryuji temple held a fireworks display at his own expense to console the souls and to recover Tsuchiura city from the Great Kanto Earthquake. It became the 84th Tsuchiura All Japan Fireworks Competition in 2015. This fireworks competition is held every year on first Saturday of October. Approximately 20,000 fireworks were launching and were watched by 700,000 people. Because it may be slightly cold, it is better to bring warm clothing when you come to watch the competition.
I went for the fireworks competition with a new digital camera on Saturday, October 3, 2015. When I walked to a place where the distance to the launching site is a few kilometers, a lot of cars parked along the road. Some people prepared portable chairs to watch the fireworks display. A BBQ party was also performed around. Several cars went by to look for their parking space but could not stop. I stayed on a small stream bank to watch the fireworks and could take following photographs. When great fireworks went up, there was a great round of applause. It is irritating that I cannot express the excitement with photographs well. A Sakuragawa river bed and a shopping mall nearby seemed to be launching sites this year. The shopping mall was closed for this fireworks competition.
The listed coordinates show one of the launching sites. A small-sized geocache is placed within 0.1 miles from the place where I took the following photographs. The container is 250cc in capacity. It may not be necessary, I also put a micro-sized cache which has information about the final at the place where I took the following photographs.

土浦全国花火競技大会
土浦全国花火競技大会は、大正14(1925)年、航空隊殉職者の慰霊と関東大震災後の土浦を活性化するという趣旨で、神龍寺の住職が私財を投じて霞ヶ浦湖畔で開催したのが始まりです。平成27(2015)年で84回を数えることとなりました。現在、花火打上数はおよそ2万発で例年70万人ほどの人が観覧に訪れるといわれています。花火大会は一般に夏の風物詩であると思いますが、始まりの経緯もあり、この花火大会は毎年10月の第一土曜日に開催されています。全国各地の花火業者が競技し、来年のための花火の品評会という位置づけにもなっています。季節がら夜になると冷え込むことが多いのでお出かけの際には羽織るものに気を付けた方がいいでしょう。
2015年10月3日(土)、せっかく購入したデジタルカメラを持って花火大会に出かけてみました。スマートフォンでラジオ放送が聞けるようなのでラジオは持っていきませんでした。そして、打上会場まで数キロというところまで歩いていくと、道沿いに路駐している車がたくさん並んでいました。座椅子を用意して座って鑑賞している人たちもいました。BBQの匂いもしました。ラジオは・・・なんと数分遅れの情報が流れてきました。スマートフォンのラジオは時間差があるようで、流れてくる情報はひとつ前の花火についてだったりして失敗したなぁと思いました。駐車できる場所を探している車がたまにウロウロとやってきたりしましたが、なんとか下の写真を撮ることができました。大迫力の花火があがると周りは拍手喝采が沸き起こったりしました。夜空いっぱいに拡がる花火は写真ではなかなか感動を伝えることはできないのがもどかしいです。今年は河川敷と近くのショッピングモールが打上会場だったそうです。直径30cmの玉を330m上空まで打ち上げ、直径300mの大輪を咲かせる『10号玉』の発射台はショッピングモールの駐車場だったとか。そのショッピングモールはこの花火大会のために休業して立ち入り禁止になっていたようです。
さて、表示の座標は打上会場のひとつです。キャッシュは下記の写真を撮った場所から0.1マイル以内に置きました。コンテナの内容積は250ccです。必要ないかもしれませんが写真を撮った場所にはファイナルの情報を記したマイクロキャッシュを置いています。
