The geocache is a 1.2L clip-lock container in a camo bag, hidden in Westwood, with the kind permission of the Coastal Sites Team, Hampshire County Council. There are swaps, a logbook with pencil, and plenty of room for Travel Bugs. Wellies will be needed in wet weather. There are lots of other geocaches close by.
Venue:-
There is a picnic site within the venue, with tables, which is reasonably sheltered within the woodland at the eastern edge of Westwood, and one of the many places you can venture into Grange Fields. The venue is child and dog friendly, but the entrances might hinder buggies etc unless they are lifted. The paths are a mixture of hard gravel, cut and uncut grass, woodland, and open grass. It can get very muddy in wet weather, so wellies are recommended. There are a number of areas where there are ponds and streams, so be careful of the water and thick mud. Most areas are fairly level, but there is a central hill and plateau if you go out into Grange Fields.
Geocache:-
The geocache is placed a little way into the wood, just off a main path, near to a picnic area. A bit a stealth required popping in and out, or if you see people passing. In very wet weather, a small shallow stream will need to be crossed, which can be stepped over, or walked through, but you might prefer to wear wellies.
