Hester School Traditional Cache

Balayang: I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, wandillup wanderer, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

Geocache Description:

The Hester School site is part of the Geegelup Heritage Trail around Bridgetown and is another of the little schools of years gone by.

 

 

 

The Hester School cache is located not far from the small township of Hester.

This school opened some 22 years after the nearby Old Hester School closed in 1920 and reached a maximum enrollment of 16 in 1945.

Unfortunately like many similar little schools it closed in 1953 having a relatively short life of 11 years.

The view from the cache is out over a paddock where the resident cows should be your only muggle attention.

GPS signal may be a bit hit and miss due to tree coverage but that shouldn,t stop this being a fairly simple find.
