Cogman's Buttress is the large cliff that comes into view as you drive through the Cogmanskloof tunnel in the direction of Montagu. It's also a popular rock climbing site, but to find this cache no climbing gear is needed.
Parking is available in front of the Aasvoëlkrans B&B where you will start off. There are no access fees or permits required so you can start whenever you like, preferably as early as possible. The first thing to do is to head in the direction of the large, curved overhang visible higher up the mountain. You can follow the hiking trail for a while to get as close as possible, but ultimately you will need to split off at some point as there is no official trail leading to the overhang. Once under the overhang, just keep heading further up towards the summit and the cache.
Remember to make note of the word in the back of the logbook. You will need it in order to find the final cache in the series.
