This event will be held in the Ventura Port District Offices, 1603 Anchors Way Drive, Ventura, CA from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The sixteen finalist films will shown from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. The group will vote on their favorites following the showing.
A $1.00 donation is requested to offset the cost of the room. Seating is limited to forty-five people. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you reply WILL ATTEND with the number of people to reserve your seats. Those who do not reserve seats may be not be allowed into the showing because we cannot exceed the 45-person capacity of the room.
Food and non-alcoholic drink are allowed. Be considerate of the clean-up crew in your food choices. Popcorn is more than welcome; red fruit punches are unwelcome.
A second event will be held at GIFF - Ventura Harbor - Take One , http://coord.info/GC64P1R, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 with the films starting at 7:00 p.m.
NOTES FROM GROUNDSPEAK
1. This year, Geocaching HQ received 81 film submissions from 20 different countries and our team judges narrowed these down to the 16 films you are about to see. These films represent 10 different countries!
2. Each filmmaker that was chosen as a finalist received a 1-year Geocaching Premium membership plus some special tags and coins from HQ.
3. This is the third year of GIFF! The first two years, HQ shared the finalists online after the main event we host in Seattle, Washington. This is the first time ever we have made the entire GIFF reel available for geocachers at events worldwide.
4. You are a part of a worldwide, geocaching experience this weekend. There are 454 GIFF Weekend Events happening around the globe! (If you can display this, here is the map that shows where all the events are taking place).
