This cache has been placed by the Department of Conservation as part of Conservation Week (1-8 November) 2015!

Seek….

  • Sit at the edge of the inlet and view the birds
  • Reach down and feel in the spaces around the rocks.

…. And you shall find

 

Fun Facts:

  • As the tide comes in and goes out from the harbour different birds come and go to feed or relax.
  • See if you can spot some of the following birds that live in the harbour:
    • Red billed gulls
    • Mallards
    • Stilts
    • Oystercatchers
    • Little black shags

 

 

Important information:

  • Be aware of traffic nearby.
  • Be aware of the water in the harbour there is no need to get into the harbour.
  • Observe the birds that use the harbour and estuary. But do not disturb them.
