This cache is placed in conjunction with the Set in Stone Historic Cemetery Tour. This is intended to become an annual event. This hide is placed in an area where many of the personalities who helped shape Ponca City are resting.
The International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery was established in 1894 with land deeded by George Brett. Later, the St. Mary's Catholic was established. and is now cared for by the I.O.O.F. cemetery foundation. When Kaw Dam was being built, may small cemeteries were relocated. Several were relocated here as is noted by the Oak Grove Cemetery section in the southwest corner.
