Geocache Description:

WELCOME TO CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA!!!!

In Travels with Charley, John Steinbeck penned “If Carmel Founders should return, they could not afford to live there, but it wouldn’t go that far. They would be instantly picked-up as suspicious characters and deported over the city line.”

It is in the spirit of this quotation that I place this cache at the entrance to Carmel. It is a simple park and grab which has room for travel bugs. However, because of obvious traffic and safety issues, please access this cache from Lower Trail; please do NOT access this from Carpenter Street or Highway 1. Also, as this is a high motorized muggle area, use stealth and try not to look like a “suspicious character.”
