Take a look around you as you approach the co-ordinates. You are in the midst of gold mining country and you are surrounded by exploration. There are a few orange painted 'pickets' left standing on the shoulders of the highway and more back from the road at the bush line, they are marking 'gridlines'. Gridlines are intersecting, straight lines through the bush made by 'line cutters' using chainsaws and machetes. Some use GPS units like you have to stay on line as they cut. Geophysical technology follows and then diamond drills cut a drill core out of the rock. The core shows the geologists if they have successfully hit a vein of gold mineral. You could be driving over a gold mine. Thank you to the line cutters, surveyors, diamond drill crews and geological staff for all your hard work, it' what keeps Timmins going.
