The Nacogdoches Texas A&M Forest Service office was established in 1978 to provide wildfire suppression, forestry assistance, and conservation education outreach programs to the citizens of Nacogdoches County. The office originally housed six full time firefighting staff assigned to three tractor-plow dozer units, a district forester, and a secretary.
Recently, the office has expanded into a full service TAMFS office by assigning a regional forester, law enforcement officer, training coordinator, and wildland urban interface specialist to the office. With the addition of new TAMFS staff, the office now offers law enforcement, wildland fire training, fire department capacity building, fire prevention, and wildfire mitigation services.
The Nacogdoches Office is typically open during regular business of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday. For additional information, visit the office at 4126 Old Tyler Road, Nacogdoches, TX 75964 or call (936) 564-9276.
