Hinnies are the offspring of a female donkey and a male horse. They can range in size from miniature to large, just as donkeys do and come in a variety of colours. Because donkeys have 62 chromosomes and horses have 64, the hinny is born with 63. The odd number makes them sterile (in most cases) as it results in an incomplete reproductive system.
Molly is a small, all white, very shy hinny.
