Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed by the Christchurch City Council as part of the DOC National Geocaching Challenge 2016 for Conservation Week 10-17 September. Please see the DOC website for more details about the challenge and prizes. This is a quite a simple cache in a lovely spot. Please keep to the paths as some of the plants are fragile.

Travis covers 116 hectares of previously farmed and drained natural wetland. Purchased by the Christchurch City Council in 1996, it is now managed as a Nature Heritage Park. This is one of the best spots in the city for bird spotting. Take some time after finding this cache and see how many different bird species you can find!
