Geocache Description:

Placed by the Department of Conservation for Conservation Week events (1-8 November) This caching experience is a nice easy one for the family, give yourself some time to travael further up the gorge and enjoy some othe walks and stops along this beautiful peice of forest. Take a selfie too with one of the Air New Zealand key rings in the cache and upload to Wildside New Zealand on Facebook and be in the running for prizes #conservationweek

 

 

Placed by the Department of Conservation for Conservation Week events (1-8 November) Matahanea, the heartland of Ngati Iri and the start of the Waioeka Journey, a beautiful trip along the Waioeka Gorge. The cache is at the first leg of the Waioeka Journey. Once you've found the cache take you time to enjoy the river, walks and sights between Matahanea at the bottom of the gorge to Opato at the top. Take a selfie with one of the Air New Zealand key rings in the cache and upload to Wildside New Zealand on Facebook and be in the running for prizes
