Geocache Description:

Welcome to the First Mardle Camping Weekend!

Open to all cachers

Spaces are limited for camping.

This is a fantastic chance to catch up with Geocachers over a relaxed Bank Holiday Weekend in May.  From noon on the 27th to noon on the 30th.

There will also be a Day Mardle meeting for all (campers or otherwise) on Sunday the 29th 4pm to 6pm

All are welcome to camp, whether it is in tent, caravan, campervan or even teepee!

Q   What is a 'Mardle'?
A    Mardle is a name given to a monthly meeting of Geocachers from the Norfolk and Suffolk area.  They are held at different locations every month.  The word means to chat or natter and seems very appropriate for the monthly gatherings.  This one differs in being the first camping weekend.

Q   What is the camp site like?
A    The site is grassed throughout, level and flat with good draining soil.  There is CCTV and free Wi-Fi (though I am not sure how it will cope with high demand).  There is a children's play area which was newly added in 2015.  There are toilet facilities, elsan (waste sewerage disposal point) and we should have use of the village hall.  There are electric hookups but currently these are allocated to those booked already but potentially there will be more hookups available by May.  The Brampton site gets a rating of 9 out of 10 on a number of review websites.  There is a direct bus from the entrance to Southwold and Beccles on a frequent basis.

Q   What will be going on?

A   This is a relaxed weekend but I am sure there will be some group cache trips from the site each day and possibly some coaching on puzzle caches, of which there are loads nearby, in the evenings.  There will be a communal BBQ on Saturday, weather permitting, where you bring your own food for cooking on at least one evening and there should be a tuck shop.  On the Sunday there will be a Mardle Meeting (Number 19) in The Village Hall for campers and non campers alike.

Q  How much does this all cost?
A  This is the amazing bit!  The site is available on an incedible offer of £13.  That's not £13 per night, or per person but £13 per unit/group for the 3 nights in total!  Bank Holiday Weekend camping doesn't get better than this (unless you are camping in your front garden).

Q   How do I book it?
A  The easiest way is via the Facebook page or you can contact me by message and I will send a booking form to you.  We require a £10 deposit to secure your pitch.

Q  Why do I need to fill in a booking form?
A To ensure the site is not over subscribed and everyone has space.  Plus it includes site rules and safety information.

Q  Can I bring a pet?
A  Of course!  As long as dogs are under control, on a lead and any fouling is cleared away.

Q  Are there bins?
A  There is no provision for large scale rubbish disposal. Please can campers take rubbish away at the end of the stay. or take off-site daily.

Q  Can I have visitors?

A  It is fine for you to have day visitors during your stay. If they could park near the bowling green at the entrance crescent as to not over fill the campsite area.

Q  When can I arrive and when must I leave?
A You can arrive from 12 noon on Friday the 27th May, and departure is by 12 noon 30th May.

Q Can I log that I attended this camping event if I only came to the Mardle Day Event?
A Yes! As there will be a Mardle meeting event on Sunday the 29th 4pm to 6pm on the same location it would class as attending.

Q  Is it wheelchair/pushchair friendly?
A Yes, most of the site is flat and short grass. There is a ramp for access to the toilet areas and there is a disabled toilet facility.

Any other questions please feel free to ask.  You may mark as attending if you are coming to the Mardle day meet, but please make it clear which bit you are attending so I know who to chase deposits from
