Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache. It is not located at the posted coordinates but is located within 5km. To find the final you will need to solve the puzzle below.

This cache is all about sea creatures. In order to solve the puzzle, you will need to identify some little-known sea monsters and then do something else, and then maybe something else again, and then do some math to get your final coordinates. Don't worry, it will be well worth the effort. The cache is a large square container that my step-mom and I have filled right to the top with swag and trade items. There's lots of room for trackables, trade items, and large swag. Bring lots of swag to trade because there are lots of items to trade for. Just remember, TRADE UP, TRADE EVEN, OR DON'T BOTHER TO TRADE AT ALL. We tried to put lots of cool stuff in the container and I will be sad if I go back and find it empty.

Final coordinates are in the following format: N 43 AB.CDE W 080 FG.HJK

A. (West African Foklore:) Malevolent water spirits that live in the Niger River. (minus 4)

B. (Medieval Bestiaries): A gargantuan whale or sea turtle that would trick sailors to landing on its back, then drown them.

C. (Cryptozoology): A combination of the words “glob” and “monster.” Weird organic masses that wash ashore and can’t be identified as the carcass of any known animal. (minus 5)

D. (Greek Mythology): An early sea god. Homer called him the ”Old Man of the Sea.“ (But never “Papa.”)

E: (Welsh Mythology): A lake monster who is sort of like a crocodile, beaver or a dwarf.

F. (Inuit Mythology): Lives in the sea. Green skin and long creepy fingernails.

G. (Real life): A squid that just looks super scary, with red eyes and a “cloak” of webbing connecting its arms; its Latin name, “Vampyroteuthis infernalis.”

H.(Cherokee Legend): A giant, river-dwelling leech.(minus 1)

J. (Cryptozoology): Supposedly, this sea monster lives in Falmouth Bay in Cornwall.

K. (Slavic Mythology): An underwater succubus demon.

There, that wasn't so hard was it?

The difficulty rating of this cache is for the puzzle, the actual cache is about a 2. The terrain rating is relevant for this geocache. Watch the thorns. There is no need to cross the fence line to find this cache.
