"Quoth the Raven, 'Nevermore.'"
-Edgar Allan Poe, "The Raven"
As usual, the cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, so don't bother going there. To find the coordinates to this cache, you will need to read a few poems and short stories by one of my favorite 19th-century authors, Edgar Allan Poe.
Renowned for his tales of terror, Poe was a master of psychological horror. Unlike modern horror stories, his tales did not generally rely on defined sources of horror (such as monsters, serial killers, etc.) to invoke terror. Instead, they relied on the terror of the human mind, invoking fear of the darkness and insanity of their characters, and reminding the reader that the same darkness lurks in the corners of his or her psyche.
On that happy note, it's puzzle time! I've engineered some of the questions to hopefully counteract the wonders of search engines (nice try, though.) To answer these questions, you're going to have to READ THE STORIES. That's right, READ THEM.
Here are the coordinates:
N 39° A.AAA', W 77° B.CDD'
AAAA = The year Poe was born + 3927
B = (The number of times the word "Raven" appears in the text of "The Raven" + 26) / 4
C = (The number of police officers who visit the narrator in "The Tell-Tale Heart" * 4) - 9
DD = The number of yards the narrator guesses as the circumference of his prison in "The Pit and the Pendulum" - 14
Once you've solved the puzzle, finding the cache should be fairly easy. The container is, of course, Poe-themed, and is large enough for very small trade items. FTF, STF, and TTF get a special Poe-themed item. This is a high Muggle area because of the college, so some stealth is required, but it shouldn't be too bad. BYOP. Happy Hunting!
