1st Street, used to be the main road connecting Upper Lake to the Northern shoreline of Clearlake, the communities of Nice and Lucerne. Hwy 20 was put in to the South, paralleling 1st street and making it a mostly quiet residential road. This little bridge is showing its age, mostly because it is so narrow. It is to be eventually replaced with one wider and more gradual to rise.
