This is a memorial placed to honor the men and women who perished when their Piedmont Airlines DC-3 slammed into the side of Bucks Elbow Mountain. One passenger survived. Phil Bradley, the survivor, spent two days strapped in his seat before the local rescue teams were able to locate and reach the crash site. The park is open from 7 am to 9 pm April -October. 7 am til dark all other times. You needn't pay to enter the park, a turn off just before the kiosk will take you to the cache.
