Hoojar: Whilst I like the location, I was never truly happy with the cache hide. Time to put this one to rest.

This series of caches has been placed to celebrate each Scout Jamboree held in Australia. It has been hidden to coincide with the 24th Australian Jamboree, being held at Catartact Scout Park during January of 2016. A Jamboree is a gathering of Scouts, Youth Members of the Scout Association aged between 11 and 15. They are held every 3 years and run for around 10 nights. Around 10,000 people attend. For many, attending a Jamboree will be the highlight of their time in Scouts.
Access is restricted to the Dam grounds. Dam grounds 10am to 5pm daily. Extended hours, 10am to 7pm, on weekends and public holidays and during daylight saving time. Entry is free No entry is permitted 15 minutes prior to closing time.
The 1st Australian Jamboree was held in Frankston (Victoria, Australia) between 27th December, 1934 and 13th January, 1935. This Jamboree was the first international gathering of Scouts outside Europe and the only Australian Jamboree attended by Lord Baden-Powell.
The site chosen, 280 acres south of Frankston, offered heathland, wooded hills and gullies, undulating terrain and ready access to the beach. Its elevated position provided panoramic views of the sea and mountains. Although relatively unspoilt, Frankston - with a population of 3,000 - was only 42 km south east of Melbourne.
The location was ideal, and so, this small town hosted the biggest event of its history. For the duration of the Jamboree, it was home to about 12,000 Scouts. By the conclusion of New Years Day 62,000 visitors had passed through the gates. In addition, many thousands of invited guests - together with 12,000 Cubs, Guides and Brownies - had shared this unique experience.
