Il Col de Moi, la cui vetta è a 1358 m s.l.m., è la più alta cima del tratto centrale della catena delle prealpi trevigiane-bellunesi compresa tra Praderadego e San Boldo. Per giungere in cima esistono vari accessi tra cui quello dal lato sud (sentiero 991 su tenue traccia con vecchi cartelli) ed esiste(va) una traccia nel lato nord ma deve essere trovata tra l'erba alta, ma il più agevole è quello sul versante orientale partendo da forcella Foran (1128 m).
Si può raggiungere forcella Foran da tutti i punti cardinali:
- Da Nord partendo dall'abitato di Zelant (via Casera Vallon Scuro e sentiero n. 2)
- Da Ovest partendo dal passo Praderadego (sentiero 2)
- Da Sud partendo da Cison di Valmarino lungo il sentiero del Pissol
- Da Est partendo da Passo S. Boldo (via Bivacco dei Loff o via Casera Vallon Scuro o seguendo le creste delle cime Vallon Scuro e Croda del Gevero)
Quest'ultimo accesso è quello consigliato (circa 1h30min partendo dalla località Campo) vista anche la presenza di altre 2 cache sulla strada: La bandiera (GC3Z2Q2) e Rifugio dei Loff (GC3Y5NT).
Dalla forcella in circa 20 minuti si giunge in cima al Col De Moi lungo pendii erbosi, facili all'apparenza ma sono le salite peggiori per le gambe e il fiato perchè costanti, non troppo impegnative ma senza mai vedere la fine se non praticamente a pochi metri dalla croce. In quest'ultimo tratto non ci sono pericoli di alcun tipo visto che la cima è una "collina" senza strapiombi, mentre qualche cautela per i bambini o se affrontate la cache con fango/neve (in quest'ultimo caso però difficilmente troverete la cache, occhio agli attributi) per accedere alla forcella Foran se arrivate dal bivacco dei Loff visto la presenza di tratti esposti, specie se superato il bivacco scegliete il sentiero "basso" (l'accesso dal lato sud in questi casi è altamente sconsigliato).
Tempo permettendo, una volta in cima si potrà godere di una fantastica vista a 360° che partendo da Ovest spazia dal Monte Cesen, alle vette Feltrine (con in primo piano il Pizzocco e i Monti del Sole), alle dolomiti Bellunesi (Schiara, Pelf), al Serva, al Col Visentin, per finire con uno sconfinato balcone aperto sulle colline del Prosecco e sulla pianura Trevigiana fino a distinguere Venezia, la laguna e i colli padovani.
A 50 m dalla vetta si apre una cavità profonda 54 m formata da due pozzi sovrapposti.
La cache è di dimensioni micro e si trova in prossimità della croce, contiene solo il logbook quindi portatevi una penna o usate quella presente nel libro di vetta. Buona caccia!
Col de Moi, at 1,358 m above sea level, is the highest peak in the central part of the chain of prealpi trevigiane-bellunesi between Praderadego and San Boldo. To reach the top, there are several access including one from the south (route 991 on soft track with old signs) and there's an old track on the north side but you've to found it in the tall grass. The easiest is to the eastern side starting from forcella Foran (1128 m).
You can reach forcella Foran from all cardinal points:
- From North by departing from Zelant (via Casera Vallon Scuro and trail no. 2)
- From the West, starting from Praderadego (path 2)
- From the South, starting from Cison di Valmarino along the path of Pissol
- From the East starting from Passo S. Boldo (via Bivacco dei Loff or via Casera Vallon Scuro or follow the crests of the peaks of Vallon Scuro and Croda del Gevero)
The last access is recommended (about 1h30min starting from Campo over Passo San Bondo) given the presence of other 2 cache on the road: La bandiera (GC3Z2Q2) and Rifugio dei Loff (GC3Y5NT).
From here in about 20 minutes, you come to Col de Moi along grassy slopes, seemingly easy but the climbs are worse for your legs and your breath because constant, not too demanding but never see the end if not only when you're few meters from the cross. During this last stage there is no danger of any kind because the summit is a "hill" without overhangs, while some caution for children or if you face the cache with mud / snow (in the latter case, however, you will hardly find the cache, look the attributes) to access the forcella Foran if you arrive from the bivacco dei Loff saw the presence of exposed stretches, especially when passing the bivouac choose the "lower" path (access from the south side in these cases is to avoid).
Weather permitting, once at the top you will enjoy a fantastic 360° view which, starting from the west, from Mont Cesen, to the peaks of Feltre (in the foreground the Pizzocco and Mountains of the Sun), the Belluno Dolomites (Schiara, Pelf) , the Servant, to the Col Visentin, ending with a boundless open balcony over the Prosecco hills and the plains of Treviso to distinguish Venice, the lagoon and the hills of Padua.
